10/22/07 Pulled the Annual Meeting announcement from the Home and Events & Meetings pages.

Replaced the info@ "mailto" links with scott@ links on the Mission Statement, Minutes & Reports, Minutes & Reports 2006, and Contact Us pages, as well as the submenu "Send an E-Mail" under the Contact Us menu item.

10/11/07 Posted a "Call for Photos" blurb on the Home page and posted a couple new pics by Scott there and on the Photo Gallery page.

10/5/07 Updated the Annual Meeting announcement on the Home page and Events & Meetings, including downloadable PDFs of the flyer.

Added a function to echo the most recent file modification date of this page on the right column under the "Site Last Updated" subhead, and moved it to below the calendar. Mostly because it was one more file I had to touch whenever I changed or updated something and now I don't have to anymore. I'm slowly figuring this stuff out.

Added October BOD minutes to the Minutes & Reports page, and added link from the calendar.

10/2/07 Set calendar to October

9/28/07 Pulled the Interpretive Program event announcement for Leave no Trace off the Home page.

9/18/07 Added September BOD minutes to the Minutes & Reports page.

9/13/07 Finished adding all the figures & tables to the Ecological Genetics (converted poster) page.

9/11/07 Reordered Events & Meetings page -- FWM details are at the top, other organizations are either below (if it doesn't warrant it's own page) or linked to the appropriate page.

Updated Trail Maintenance page with next event, organized remaining info a little bit and added some graphics.

Updated Home page with Pine Hill Trail workday info.

Fixed links on the calendar.

9/10/07 Added link to Frank B. Colby, Ph.D.'s profile to the "Experts" section of the Friends of Friends page.

9/7/07 Added the links from the link rotator to the Friends of Friends page, created a couple new subcategories and alphabetized them. I think. Not sure if Friends of the Blue Hills uses "The" in their name, but it didn't seem like it ...

Finished building the Interpetive Program page, included the Leave no Trace event on Sep 24, descriptions of recurring programs from the September calendar, along with a quick explanation of what the Interpreter Program is.

Referenced the Leave no Trace event on the Home page and linked it from the calendar.

Updated the Site Map page to reflect recent page additions (Interpetive Program, Incubator of Ideas & Biological Monitoring).

9/6/07 Built (installed) random link rotator into the right column - cycles through several banner links, displaying a new one on each page refresh.

9/4/07 Reset calendar include to show September.

8/17/07 Added update & photos to the Keep Your Fish to Yourself page and referenced it on the Home page.

8/13/07 Created the Interpretive Program page. Has a secondary link under the Events & Meetings menu item. Just a placeholder for now -- still under construction.

Added a link to Aaron Ellison's profile at Harvard Forest to the Biological Monitoring page.

Updated the Events & Meetings page with new Trails Maintenance information, added a placeholder for the Hawk Watch event, as well as the Annual Meeting. All the above are also linked from the calendar.

Removed references to National Trails Day from the Trail Maintenance page, and referenced the upcoming workdays on the Home page.

Added links to online profiles for several people on the Incubator of Ideas page & Biological Monitoring page, and created a new "Experts" category on the Friends of Friends page to list them there as well.

8/1/07 Created the Incubator of Ideas page to announce the Healey Grant. Has its own primary link on the menu, and is referenced on the Home page.

Created the Biological Monitoring page. Has a secondary link on the menu under Research, and is referenced on the Home page.

Created the Ecological Genetics page (Veronica's poster). Has a secondary link on the menu under Incubator of Ideas. Still under construction.

Took down spring peepers info from Home page, disabled data entry form on the Spring Peepers page.

Added meeting minutes from May 14, June 25, and event recaps & pictures from May 19 and June 16 to the Minutes & Reports page. The most recent BOD meeting is also referenced on the Home page, and all events & meetings that occurred in the past are cross-referenced from the calendar.

Added event photos to the Photo Gallery page (near the bottom).

Set calendar to August.

5/11/07 Added photos from the Minutes & Reports page to the Photo Gallery page in the events & meetings section.

5/10/07 Separated Minutes & Reports 2006 from the current year Minutes & Reports page and updated the Site Map with the new link.

Separated Site Updates 2006 from the current year Site Updates page and updated the Site Map with the new link.

Did some CSS cleanup -- moved some inline styles to the stylesheet (left & right floats & margin modifiers) and defined classes for them. Nobody cares but me.

5/9/07 Created the Visitor's Center Vestibule page and updated the menu with the new link. Could use more copy.

5/4/07 Updated the Current Projects page with new stuff we're working on. Still needs work, but its a start.

Added a Site Map page because it's good to have. Kind of a standard feature on most sites, and I've been meaning to do it for a while.

Moved the "overview" stuff from the bottom of the Home page to the Mission Statement page. I felt like it was lost down there anyway, and if anyone really needs to find it badly enough, I hope I've made it easy enough for them.

The hit counter broke on the Home page for some reason so I pulled it off, but I still need to figure out what happened.

5/3/07 Rebuilt the "Explore" menu so that if you're on a page that either has subpages or is a subpage, that section is dropped. It's supposed to help the user keep track of where they are on the site.

5/1/07 Posted announcement about Vernal Pool Workshop on the Home and Events & Meetings pages.

Switched default month on calendar from April to May and added the Vernal Pool date link.

4/13/07 Added minutes from the past three business meetings to the Minutes & Reports page, as well as the writeup and photos from the Winter Hike.

Rebuilt the calendar include, so you can switch it from the current month and view every month for 2007 by clicking left and right arrows next to the month name. Links for past events and meetings go to the corresponding entry on the Minutes & Reports page (if it's been documented), and future links go to the Events & Meetings page.

4/11/07 Posted announcement about Earth Day cleanup at the Ski Area on the Home and Events & Meetings pages.

Replaced the first chart and adjusted the text on the Spotted Salamanders page.

3/23/07 Replaced the content on the Spotted Salamanders page and added content to the Research page, created a Keep Your Fish to Yourself page, as well as a logo for the Home page right-hand column and added a link to the menu.

Updated the events calendar for March.

3/21/07 Pulled the Spring Peepers monitoring project announcement back up to the top of the Home page, activated the link to the Spring Peepers page in the menu and corrected errors on the SpringPeepers.pdf and an image on the Peepers page.

2/15/07 Checked the photos e-mail account for anything new and deleted all the SPAM.

2/13/07 Posted photos on the Home page from the hike on Sunday that Ginny sent.

1/30/07 Added an RSVP mechanism to the February hike announcements on the Home and Events & Meetings pages. It sends an e-mail to the info@ address.

Updated the events calendar for February.

1/26/07 Posted latest announcement for the upcoming hike on the Home and Events & Meetings pages.

1/24/07 Rebuilt the "Explore" menu to gray out the current page and disable the link -- the thinking is that it's a visual clue as to where you are, and you shouldn't be able to (or even need to) click the link to go to the page you're already on.

1/22/07 Added a Print Window button (link) to the bottom of the photo popup window and threw on a couple little icons to go with it and the Close Window button.

1/18/07 Converted the entire site from HTML 4.01 Transitional to XHTML 1.0 Strict and validated it with the W3C in preparation for adding Google Maps functionality. If you've never done it you'll never care, but I feel like having gone through that somehow jacks me up a notch on the webmonkey geek-o-meter.

Changed the name of the Minutes / Recaps page to "Minutes & Reports." The word "recap" was bugging me. No idea why. Also changed the name on the Contact page from just "Contact" to "Contact Us" so it'll match the link under "Explore."

Rewrote every <title> tag in a "headline" style -- a couple articles I've read claim it's more search-engine friendly and is the #1 thing you can do to increase your hits and standing in the search-engine list. Each title is unique to the page it's on, from 10 to 15 words and is meant to capture the main theme of the page, like a newspaper headline.

Edited the captions on Ginny's new Gallery, and added 8 new photos.

Put up quick hike announcement on the Home and Events & Meetings pages.

1/15/07 Moved the photos from Ginny's first gallery into the main Gallery page in preparation for putting up her new page.

Put up Ginny's new Gallery. Added link in the "What's New" list in the right column and updated the ones in the menu (Now renamed "Explore") and in the main Gallery page.

Added a counter to the bottom of the Home page.

1/11/07 Created the Spring Peepers announcement on the Home page.

Fixed a couple bad links on the Friends of Friends page.

Updated the Trail Maintenance page with new info & logo for National Trails Day.

1/10/07 Updated the Minutes / Recaps page with minutes from the last three meetings, and the Events & Meetings page with the meeting scheduled for February

Rebuilt the right column include to be a "What's New" quick link list. Thought it might be worth it.

Uploaded 36 new images for the rotating head graphic -- I finally got through making thumbnails of Ginny's pictures, so that was something quick I could do until I rebuild her gallery page.

1/8/07 Updated the events calendar include for January.

Checked the photos e-mail account for anything new and deleted all the SPAM.
